Welcome to CommunATI ("the app"). CommunATI is a free, Canadian-made community platform for live events, group activities and programs in STEM and the arts, in English and French. These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and CommunATI, a Canadian federal not-for-profit corporation (Corporations Canada 1804950-5) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

Who can use CommunATI

CommunATI is intended for users aged 13 and older. Where children participate in a program through an organization, accounts are created and managed by that organization and by a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account.

Acceptable use

• Use the app only for its intended purpose: running and taking part in live events, group activities and programs.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes others' rights.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or other users' accounts.
• Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with an organization.

Content you submit

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as photos, videos, or text). You grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely to operate the app's features for you and your program or organization. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content, including consent for images of others.

Organizations and programs

Organizations that use CommunATI are responsible for the programs and events they run, for the participants they invite, and for obtaining any required parental consent. CommunATI provides the tools; the organizing body is responsible for how they are used.

Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it. To delete your account and data, see our Account & Data Deletion page.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CommunATI is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
