CommunATI is a free, Canadian-made community platform for live events, group activities and programs in STEM and the arts, in English and French. CommunATI is operated by CommunATI, a Canadian federal not-for-profit corporation (Corporations Canada 1804950-5). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean CommunATI, and "the app" means the CommunATI app and website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
CommunATI is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where children participate in a program through an organization, accounts are created and managed by that organization and by a parent or guardian.
We use the information above only to provide and operate the app's functionality: creating accounts, running live events, group activities and programs, displaying schedules and results, enabling participation across devices, processing payments, and maintaining security and reliability.
On any public-facing display (such as a scoreboard or leaderboard shown on a screen), a participant is identified by a self-chosen display name and/or a participant number — never by their full legal name. Real names are visible only to the participant's family and their program or organization administrators.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Information is visible within your program or organization as needed to run an event (for example, an organizer can see participants in their own event). We may disclose information if required by law.
Information is encrypted in transit. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we delete it on request as described below (subject to records we must keep for legal or financial reasons).
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. See our Account & Data Deletion page for instructions, or email info@communati.ca.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
